Episode 16: [Weekly Watch] From a Vocabulary Upgrade to a Site Build — What Did Aubzhang Break This Week?

2026-10-30 · Aubzhang · Episode 16 of 16

Friends, happy Friday.

The publishing pace has been brutal lately. Almost a post every day. Some friends said privately: too much information, hard to keep up.

So starting this week, Aubzhang is launching a fixed new column every Friday: Aubzhang's Weekly Watch.

In it, he'll do a highlights round-up of everything from last Saturday through this Thursday, so you can fill in the gaps.

1. Episode 10: The Vocabulary Streak Broke — How to Pick It Back Up? Aubzhang Upgraded Wanci Zilaiye, and Had a Fight with AI Along the Way

【Core recap】: A user reported "I can't find where I stopped." Aubzhang vetoed AI's proposed auto-bookmark and used an extremely restrained micro-innovation instead: Noble Yellow check-in tags that stand for achievement. Perfect mis-tap prevention, and it quietly dissolves the user's progress anxiety.

Aubzhang's take: the highest-level product thinking isn't satisfying the need directly. It's guiding the user toward a better way of using the thing.

2. Episode 11: 19 Prompts, 1 Day — Aubzhang Hand-Built a Zero-Permission Ad Blocker with AI

【Core recap】: Fed up with splash ads, Aubzhang spent one day and 370 credits to have AI write a purely local ad skipper called AubSkip. In between came every weird bug imaginable: mis-taps, foreground hijacking, an unfindable accessibility entry. The result is a clean, 3.6 MB, zero-permission tool.

Aubzhang's take: working code is only a passing grade. Making the user feel good while using it — that's a product's soul.

3. Episode 12: Aubzhang Dug Through His Own 1,439 AI Chats — 40% of His Credits Were Wasted by Himself

【Core recap】: Aubzhang had AI review three months of chat logs and found the biggest problem was "requirements thought faster than spoken." Out of that came his open-sourced "Three Disciplines," "Five Iron Laws," and "Four Prompt Templates," all bought with real money.

Aubzhang's take: give AI vague instructions and it hands back useless code. Give AI rigorous logic and it becomes a lever on your ability.

4. Episode 13: WorkBuddy in the Left Hand, DeepSeek in the Right — How Do Ordinary People Drive AI?

【Core recap】: The four-quadrant method revealed. On the left, WorkBuddy as foreman does the work. On the right, DeepSeek as strategist works out the plan. Aubzhang sits in the middle, writing no code, acting only as translator of business and final decision-maker.

Aubzhang's take: for ordinary people using AI, the skill that matters was never typing code. It's the art of being the boss.

5. Episode 14: Not Just Cloud Storage — Deposited Experience: Aubzhang's Library Method

【Core recap】: Finish a project and forget it? Aubzhang showed an extremely disciplined cloud library. Numbered file names (01-research, 02-PRD) deposit the entire project context. Next time, one line — "go read the AubSkip folder" — and AI wakes the past memory instantly.

Aubzhang's take: give memory to the cloud, leave context to AI, keep the thinking for yourself. What really separates people is the experience they deposited.

6. Episode 15: No Code, Bad English — Aubzhang Built a Whole Independent Site with Screenshots + AI

【Core recap】: Aubzhang's first independent site aubzhang.com went live. From not understanding Cloudflare's all-English dashboard, to the hick method of screenshotting it to DeepSeek for translation and guidance, to pushing AI into writing minimal code — an ordinary person can cross the technical barrier with AI.

Aubzhang's take: building a site used to feel like tech-people-only work. Now, if you can screenshot and ask questions, AI flattens the barrier and you build your own digital base.

Final Thoughts (Weekend Preview)

Looking back at this week — polishing small tools, reviewing AI methodology, standing up our own site — we really only did one thing: assembled scattered tools into a complete AI productivity workflow that belongs to ordinary people.

With that workflow in place, it's time to see results.

This Saturday, Aubzhang ships a major update to the AubSkip ad skipper.

And this Sunday, he's holding a big one back — a brand new app launches, and Aubzhang's personal base gets stuffed, entirely, into your phone.

We built up a lot of theory this week. The weekend is when we hand in the paper. Stay tuned.
